Premier League Team of the Week: Giroud & Hazard included after Chelsea heroics

By n8rngtd.top

Manchester City may have sealed the league title this week, but it was Chelsea's attacking duo who stand out in this week's XI

Olivier Giroud needed just 30 minutes of playing time to turn Chelsea's game against Southampton on its head and earn his place in this week's Premier League Team of the Week.

The French striker came on as a second half substitute with his side sitting 2-0 down, but within 20 minutes they held a 3-2 lead and he had scored two of them.

Giroud lines up at the pinnacle of the best XI from the latest round of fixtures and is joined by team-mate Eden Hazard, the other goalscorer.

Despite beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 and eventually being confirmed as this season's champions, Manchester City have just one player in the squad in the form of Aymeric Laporte.

Instead, the team who helped hand City the title by beating Manchester United on Sunday were better represented, as West Brom stars Ben Foster and Kieran Gibbs were named.

No Liverpool player created more than the four chances that the young full-back did against Bournemouth, and he set up Mohamed Salah's goal along the way.
