WHAT HAPPENED?
For now, there is plenty of speculation to be found regarding a return to the small screen for Ted Lasso – rather than the big one. Warner Bros are said to have taken up options on a number of the show’s leading characters, while others have spoken of their excitement at potentially rekindling roles in an award-winning production.

A green light is required from Jason Sudeikis – as the lead character and writer of the show – and he is staying quiet for now. The same is true for production teams, with Goldstein admitting that it is "only frustrating that we’re not allowed to talk about anything."

WHAT BRETT GOLDSTEIN SAID
He was, however, happy to speculate on a potential Ted Lasso movie when quizzed on the red carpet by about a spin-off that takes the franchise in an entirely different direction. Asked if he would like to pitch a Lasso movie, Goldstein said: "It would not be mine to pitch! I think it’s a great idea though. Ted Lasso in space is not a bad idea."

WHAT NEXT FOR TED LASSO?
Series 3 of Ted Lasso came to an end up May 2023, with the American coach returning to his homeland from a spell in England. There have been suggestions that pre-production on Season 4 could begin in early 2025, but there is little substance to the rumours for now.
